The Enneagram: Maximizing on your personality and understanding others better

The Arise Society staff was treated to an enlightening workshop about the Enneagram with Mary Wright,  Enneagram Park City.

The Enneagram is a personality test that describes patterns about how people conceptualize the world and manage their emotions. It explains why we behave the way we do, points to specific directions for individual growth, and is an important tool for improving relationships.

The Enneagram describes nine ways of seeing the world that are very different from one another, each with unique strengths and blind spots. Learning to recognize these different points of view enables us to understand co-workers’ and students’ motivations, needs, concerns, and style of working and relating.

Because it identifies opportunities for development for each individual type, it has become widely used in areas such as counseling, psychotherapy, business development, parenting and education.

Our therapeutic model is highly personalized. We believe that by more fully understanding how our students see the world – as well as ourselves and our own personality – we are more equipped to identify the learning and social environment where they can continue to thrive.
