Hannah Park
Productivity Coordinator
Hannah is a Seattle native who has come to find home among the Wasatch mountains here in Utah. After spending many years living abroad in the U.K. and Japan, she graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors in English Language and a certificate in Teaching. Hannah taught English at a local language school for some time before deciding to pursue her passion in the world of Social Work. Hannah originally began working with The Arise Society in the Winter of 2021 as a Mentor. During this time, Hannah quickly became a support to the students and staff as they were navigating their own personal journeys. After a year with Arise, Hannah transitioned to working Wilderness Therapy in Bend, Oregon as a Field Guide. Hannah was able to spend significant time working with youth navigating their mental health struggles while encouraging them to overcome the nuances of life outdoors. She eventually became a Lead Field Guide and helped train other staff on the therapeutic model of CASA (Commitment, Acceptance, Security, and Attunement) used with the youth. Hannah again transitioned from this role to working in the Juvenile Justice System as a Counselor for youth in an Alternative to Detention Program. During this time, she would work one-on-one with youth in therapy based groups and activities in order to connect them with and educate them about community resources.
Hannah returned to Arise in winter of 2023 to work as the Productivity Coordinator. In this role, she helps guide our students as they pursue educational or vocational goals- working closely with nearby Utah Valley University and Mountainland Technical College. In addition, she supports students while creating resumes, completing homework, engaging in volunteer activities, working with Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and completing day-to-day independent living executive functioning tasks. Using her own experience in her variety of roles as well as connections formed during the time she worked as an Orientation Leader at UVU, Hannah is able to support students at Arise as they navigate their path to independence. When not working, Hannah enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, backpacking, or spending time with her beloved cat.
